Altea Castell de l'Olla Fireworks is a fantastic free fireworks extravaganza that is held on the second Saturday in August every year. The Castell de l'Olla has been held in honour of San Lorenzo since 1986, and every year is attended by over 50,000 people every year. The setting for the event is the pebbled 1.4 kilometre long beach on the outskirts of Altea. Classed as semi rural the beach becomes a hive of activities as spectators arrive laden with chairs, tables and a nights supply of food. Through out the evening the atmosphere builds until midnight, when the show begins! The fireworks are set off from floating platforms and accompanied by a live orchestra. They are absolutely beautiful to watch as their colours and shapes reflect off the water.

Altea Castell de l'Olla Fireworks is a fantastic free spectacular fireworks display that is held on the second Saturday in August every year.
The Castell de l'Olla has been held for over 20 years and is held the night before the Festival of San Lorenzo and every year is attended by over 50,000 people every year. In addition to the main programme of events, the come and enjoy many activities including drama and dance performances as well as exhibitions.
The setting for the event is the pebbled beach on the outskirts of Altea. and bring your own chairs, tables and a plentiful supply of food and drink.
Through out the evening the atmosphere builds until midnight, when the show begins! The fireworks are set off from floating platforms, and require over 2 thousand kilos of gunpowder and are accompanied by a live orchestra. They are absolutely beautiful to watch as their many colours and shapes reflect off the water.
